No Insurance, On Purpose
Real, lasting change in therapy is built on trust — and trust needs room that a billing code can't give it.
Therapy asks something no other appointment does: that you hand over the most vulnerable parts of your life to another person. That kind of work depends entirely on the relationship between client and therapist, and on the flexibility to let that relationship set the pace.
When a large insurer sits between the two of you, therapy tends to shrink into case management — shaped by what's billable rather than what's needed. Research also points to real costs to privacy and outcomes when insurance is involved.
Working private-pay means We at GRIT can tailor treatment to you specifically, without a third party setting the terms. Superbills are available for every session, so you can seek reimbursement from your insurer directly.

"Working with Matt has been incredibly life changing. I came to Matt in crisis as a lost man, husband, and father in need of guidance and emotional support. He provided a safe space for me to vent my frustrations, grieve my losses, and celebrate my progress while gently challenging thoughts and ideals that were no longer serving my higher self. His approach to therapy is always rooted in kindness, patience, curiosity, and warmth. His interventions were thoughtful, research based, and deeply aligned with my personal growth. Matt empowered me to shine my light again, and I will forever be immensely grateful for the work he and I tackled in therapy together."

"Working with Sarah has been an incredibly positive and empowering experience. I work in a high-stress profession, and she has helped me manage its demands while also supporting me through challenges in my personal life, including navigating complicated dynamics with friends and family.
From the beginning, she created a warm, supportive, and judgment-free environment where I felt completely comfortable opening up. Talking with her feels as natural as talking with a trusted friend, but with the benefit of her professional insight and perspective. She is honest and direct when I need it, but always in a kind, compassionate, and nonjudgmental way.
Her knowledge of women’s health and wellness, combined with her thoughtful and genuine approach, makes her an exceptional therapist. She has helped me better understand myself, develop healthier perspectives, establish boundaries, and feel more confident navigating both professional and personal challenges. I am truly grateful for her guidance and would highly recommend her to any woman seeking meaningful support and personal growth."
